- Due to COVID, players of dungeons and dragons (a table top RPG) have moved online to play through video chats. One of the main visual elements of DND are the figurines and sets which don’t translate as well online as they do in person. Many players have moved to using illustrations instead of add a visual intrigue to the game.
- I have been commissioned to illustrate three chairs which are significant to the game.
- I am waiting for a clarification on the specifics - the deadline is at the end of April which makes this brief suitable for this module.
- In the meantime, I have experimented with developing a new way to paint digitally by making some small studies. I can focus on values and rendering texture by working in grey scale and then, on another layer, adding colour on top. I think that this way of painting will streamline my process
- I’m excited to move towards into concept artist role as, post university, I will be focusing on illustration rather than actively pursuing animation (Excluding pre-production jobs).
